The concert bands are the core of Atlantic Community High School. The bands are open to students in grades 9-12. Placements in the Concert Bands is determined by directors’ recommendation. Students are grouped by ability into bands based on this recommendation. Students in Concert Bands should expect after school rehearsals in the winter and spring to prepare for concert festivals and supplementary performances locally

Students who fail to meet their obligations (playing as well as attendance) in the bands will lose the opportunity to perform with these bands. They will be given individual assignments and instruction to be worked on during and outside of the class to earn their grade. Their grade will be determined by the performance of their assignments.
